ITERATIONS 2023 - Workshop Noise, Shape, Colour!
WORKSHOP: Poster Workshop - Processing/p5.js with Stig Møller Hansen
In this dynamic workshop, Stig will build on the ideas from his symposium talk, focusing on using graphic design as "objects to think with" for novice coders. The chosen "object" is the cover design of IDEA issue 377 (2017), a Japanese quarterly magazine, designed by Kensaku Kato & Seigo Kitaoka. Check it out here!
Stig will guide the workshop participants through the deconstruction of the cover and introduce the code elements needed to reconstruct it.
🎓 Key Workshop Elements:
- Deconstruction of the cover design.
- Introduction to code elements including Perlin Noise fields, randomness distribution (uniform vs. non-uniform), SVG shapes, and colour palette generation.
🚀 What You'll Gain:
- Better understanding of covered topics.
- Ability to combine elements for diverse designs.
- Generate unique designs by adjusting variables, shapes, and colours.
❗️❗Workshop Requirements:
- An installation of Processing 4.3 (Free download: Processing)
- Basic knowledge of Processing and programming.
