These questions will be explored during the ITERATIONS creative coding symposium conference programme spanning Firday 15 December and Saturday 16 December.

● With a focus on inclusivity, we invited an international group of makers from different disciplines to talk about how they use code as a creative medium.

● The proceedings of our Friday programme will be moderated by media researcher, curator and musician Katía Truijen. Her work is concerned with bringing people together around practices of listening, archiving, and rehearsing alternative urban, technological and ecological futures.

● Opening keynote of the event will be "Echoes in Code: Using Graphic Design Heritage To Teach Programming", presented by Stig Møller Hansen (Online). In this talk Stig will talk about their 'Deconstruction/Reconstruction' teaching method, blending art, Computational Thinking, and graphic design heritage. Learn how historical graphic design artifacts inspire Creative Coding for educators, students, and professionals alike.

● Second talk of the day is presented by Bérénice Courtin (Online). Their practice focuses on textile arts, installation and performance in relation to codes and language and is currently exhibited at the Centre Pompidou Metz in an interactive installation called Digital Jacquard. Bérénice Courtin's work takes as its starting point the study of the electromechanical machine Enigma, used by her Polish resistance grandfather to encrypt and decipher information. In their artistic practice, Bérénice compares the use of this machine to the loom into which she inserts computer codes.

● Last presentation on the Friday programme features Lea Naisberg (Online). As the founder of Creative Coding NYC, she fosters a vibrant community through weekly meetups, emphasizing inclusivity and collaboration. In her talk, Lea will address why the creative coding and live coding community (particularly in New York) have been successful in being inclusive and beginner friendly and how the community has been intentional about creating spaces for underrepresented groups in tech.

● To bring a ceremonial close to our first day of our creative coding conference we will engage in "Learning on Repeat: Creative Pedagogies & Generative Tools", moderated by Katía Truijen.

Stringing together learnings from the speakers and ITERATIONS community (online and offline), we will engage in a final conversation on creative pedagogies and generative tools, ways of sharing knowledge, and modes of intergenerational learning.
