The Zoonomic calendar: Composting Computers Finissage
On 29 June we invite you to the finissage of our Composting
Computers exhibition and workshop programme in the Hof van Cartesius, focused on (un)sustainable art & technology. We will showcase artistic explorations born amongst the opportunities posed by e-waste repurposing and creative thinking, and explore the possibilities artists envision for a hopeful ecological future.
Over the last six months, we’ve been busy putting permacomputing into practice: a movement and a design principle promoting a radically sustainable approach to digital technology. We have done so by running workshops, connecting with inspiring speakers, becoming a Zoöp and collecting the results of our first explorations on the subject in the exhibition. We wish to engage the audience in thinking with us about creative solutions to our current environmental crisis, and this is only the beginning of our exciting journey into permacomputing!
During the finissage, we will also host a ceremony to celebrate our recent transformation as CCU: we are now a Zoöp, an organisation that operates by also taking into account non-human voices and interests (i.e. trees, plants, animals, etc.) in the decision-making and working method. This is an important step for us, supported by the Nieuwe Instituut Zoöp: curious about how it works in practice? Come have a toast with us and find out more!
