De Machines komen eraan: niet om ons te verdringen, maar om samen met ons kunst te maken, met ons te werken, met ons te dansen. Het ART MACHINES Festival is er om jouw relatie met de robots, de glitches, de algoritmes te verzoenen. Van 7 tot 11 december veranderen De Havenloods en De Nijverheid in een interactieve site voor het hele gezin: maak een wandeling, eet een hapje, verleg je creatieve grenzen.
De meeslepende kunsttentoonstelling is elke avond open om je zintuigen te prikkelen, met indrukwekkende stukken zoals de projecties van Marpi Studio van fantastische wezens die bezoekers over de hele wereld hebben betoverd. Een filmavond, een meeslepend concert en een nieuwe editie van de Algorave vullen je avonden met betoverende audiovisuele wonderen. Wil je meer weten over hoe je zelf grensverleggende digitale kunstwerken kunt maken? Gedurende het hele festival zijn er workshops, lezingen en rondleidingen voor professionals en beginners van alle leeftijden.

Aanvang: Invalid DateEinde: Invalid DateThe immersive ART MACHINES exhibition will be open every evening to captivate your senses, featuring artworks both by established artists and up and coming makers from our ReCoding trajectory, a programme that aims to inspire the new generation of makers with the work of the Dutch Pioneers of Media Art.
Artists in the exhibition are: Edwin van der Heide, Yehwan Song, Marpi Studio, Katpatat, Sven Zeijen, Viktoria Arvayova, Dan Xu, Bram van Klink and De Stadsjutters.
8 December: Movienight in collab with Hoogt on Tour & LIMA

Throughout the evening, inspired by the format of VPRO Zomergasten, Sanneke Huisman (LIMA) interviews him about his oeuvre, inspiration, and the notion of feedback in sound, visuals and narratives.
The movies we will be viewing are Dorosute no hate de bokura (Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes) (2020), by Junta Yamaguchi; The Speed of Sound Revisited (2022), by Edwin van der Heide; Mobile V (2000), by reMi; The Vasulkas (1974), by Telc; 20Hz (2011), by Semiconductor; and a documentation of Dick Raaijmakers.
