Niels Janssen

Niels is an artist and creative coder based in Utrecht (NL) holding a master’s degree in computer science (MSc). With a strong background in the corporate world of software engineering and a passion for creative coding, he bridges the gap between technological and creative thinking by combining his work experience and artistic practice. Niels follows his mission to explore digital creativity and the use of creative technology in the office, classroom, theatre, and dance studio as a designer, developer, teacher, and mentor.

As an artist, Niels researches digital improvisation within the field of music and dance. In his work, he explores meaningful ways of applying digital layers in interactive installations and performing arts. By bringing creative technology into the performance space, he creates an audiovisual dialogue between the moving body and live coded computer algorithms.
