Calendar
At Creative Coding Utrecht we organise a range of monthly events that cater to different interests, age groups and skill level. We aim to help you develop your connection with all things coding, no matter how foreign the subject might seem to you.
Have no idea what Creative Coding means? Have a background in programming but you wouldn’t know where to start making your own, creative stuff? Or do you simply want to enhance your pre-existing skills and create even more flashy visuals, animations and more?
Filter our events by topic and accessibility level, there is something for everyone. To look up any of our past events, check out the archive.
Kneading Patterns
How does music change when you compose it through patterns instead of notes? In this workshop we explore how musical ideas take shape through code using Strudel, a browser-based live coding environment for musical patterning. Led by new media artist and musician-programmer Roxanne Harris, we shape and reshape sound over time by layering, stretching, folding, and transforming patterns. Like kneading dough, simple structures gradually become evolving musical systems.
Roxanne’s improvisational approach to coding invites you to treat code as a playful, responsive material. Together we experiment with rhythm, structure, and live performance techniques, exploring how musical ideas can grow, shift, and unfold in real time.
A workshop for artists, musicians, coders, and curious beginners. Bring a laptop and headphones. No installation required!
