Calendar
At Creative Coding Utrecht we organise a range of monthly events that cater to different interests, age groups and skill level. We aim to help you develop your connection with all things coding, no matter how foreign the subject might seem to you.
Have no idea what Creative Coding means? Have a background in programming but you wouldn’t know where to start making your own, creative stuff? Or do you simply want to enhance your pre-existing skills and create even more flashy visuals, animations and more?
Filter our events by topic and accessibility level, there is something for everyone. To look up any of our past events, check out the archive.
Scavenger hunt: In search for circularity at Hof van Cartesius
During this workshop, we will explore circularity at Hof van Cartesius and the UP Maakplaats. What do you encounter at this creative breeding ground? What do you think is circular about this place? Which reused materials do you see?
During the scavenger hunt, we use the Datawalk-method and capture our impressions with our phones. This includes taking photos and videos, but also writing texts and recording sound clips. Maybe you write a poem or conduct a short interview?
Not everyone needs to bring a phone. One person can observe, while another takes care of the documentation.
The observations from the datawalk end up on a digital map. This creates a nice overview of the walk and everyone’s detective work.
At the start of the workshop, we explain how to prepare your phone for the method. We currently use the Telegram app, so it helps to install it in advance.
After the walk, we return to the UP workshop and share our findings using this map. You can find the map on this website: https://datawalk.creativecodingutrecht.nl/
Following the datawalk, at 2:00 PM at UP, there will be the unveiling of Vincent Schoutsen’s trash-art sculpture, including an artist talk.
