Ground
From climate emergency to the emergence of grounded responses. Mainstream responses to the ecological crisis are often caught between optimism for hyper-technological futures and indifference or despair. However different these approaches may seem they lead to the same result: inaction and disengagement. In contrast, being a Zoöp means grounding the crisis into situated, everyday practices: we learn how to (re)attune to and participate in the ecologies in which we are embedded.
This programme is part of CCU’s broader research into how artistic and technological practices can support this subtle but urgent transformation. Collaborating with artists across disciplines, CCU explores how to make relationships with non-human entities and processes perceptible and actionable. The public is invited to participate in this open-ended process to help shape the experimental, collective learning that will continue to unfold in the in the years ahead.
