E-waste Arcade Meetup
Come to the E-waste Arcade meetup November 20th!
Above the Ground exhibition, the CCU-studio will be turned into an alternative arcade with various installations and consoles to play with. The majority of the hardware is saved from the trash and tells a unique story. Dust off the old electronics in your attic, and get some inspiration on how to set up your own homemade gaming station! If you have any tech you’d like to repurpose, or perhaps your own e-waste arcade, feel free to bring them to the meetup. You don’t need any preexisting knowledge or tech/gaming skills to join this meetup.
We will provide some information about the ever growing pile of electronic waste on our planet and the degenerative aspects of our digital age; from cradle to grave. Then we will move on to testing out the machines.
Together we explore ways to develop a healthier relationship with our day-to-day devices, and learn about the principles of permacomputing. Discover how you can find value in abandoned electronics, and challenge your friends!
